WHIPPET (ENGLISH CHART WHIPPET) - Dog breeds

Characteristics of breeds on a scale of 0-5

WHIPPET
Is one of the smaller greyhounds. It weighs approx. 9 kg and reaches approx. 45 cm. growth. Among his relatives he is distinguished by submission to man and susceptibility to training. It is not as neurotic as the Italian Greyhound or independent like the Afghan hound. During training, corporal punishment, echidnels and any harsh treatment are excluded. Firmness is needed, but not exaggerated. For example – trying to force a whippet to cringe on a cold surface is a complete mistake. It is similar with learning to retrieve and ruthlessly coming to your feet in every situation. Excessive use of force can only cause deterioration of relations with the owner. We advise you to appreciate the fact that the whippet itself is more punishable than most greyhounds. It is perfect for living in a block of flats, provided that you go out for long walks. In winter, a whippet will need a sweater, although shaking his body does not necessarily mean that he is cold and also happens on warm days.

CHOW-CHOW
The appearance of this quadruped will certainly amaze many of you. At first glance, this dog resembles a little lion. When he opens his mouth he is even more surprised, because his tongue is not pink, as in all dogs, but purple. All those who try to pat the chow-chow with hair or under the hair will also be surprised. This is not possible because the dog’s hair grows vertically, i.e. the hair is at right angles to the skin. This breed not only has a bizarre appearance, it also has a specific character. Faithful and loyal to the owner, chow-chow maintains a great distance. He is not a dog that requires a lot of affection or even shows such emotions on a daily basis. For this reason, it is not an ideal companion for children. Untrained individuals are quite disobedient (especially males). Unleashed, they like to follow their path. Learning is only effective if it is started before the age of six months. Chow-chow, the hardest part is teaching how to get to your feet. Importing is not feasible. This is a good dog for the house with a garden, and also for people who do not like extroverted dogs, golden retrievers. Chow-chow left alone will reciprocate with his master.

CHINESE HEATER
It is not known exactly where it comes from – from China, South America or from any other corner of the world. It is in all respects a breed as mysterious as it is mysterious. In addition to the naked variety, there is also a „powder” puff version, and only crossbreeding of both types guarantees healthy offspring. Hairless Chinese Crested Dog is a suitable quadruped for allergy sufferers as well as for lonely and elderly people. It does not require a lot of traffic and is attached to one owner perfectly, which does not mean that it does not do well in a larger family. An interesting fact is that under the influence of sunlight, this dog is sunbathing. Therefore, in the summer it should be lubricated with protective creams with a UV filter. In winter, it is necessary to use oiling creams and dog sweaters, because the dog can easily catch colds. Chinese crested dog is not aggressive, he has a very cheerful disposition. He is smart but he doesn’t like training. This breed is great for living in a block of flats. However, not everyone is willing to accept its eccentric appearance.

HUSKY
Among other dogs, the husky is distinguished not only by its extremely attractive appearance, but above all by its unique character. His psyche is so independent that someone who has had, for example, sheepdogs and now has a Siberian Husky can have huge problems with communicating effectively with his protégée. All attempts to make him an absolutely devoted, faithful and completely obedient dog will probably fail. Very useful pedigree has a strong impact on the behavior of the husky. Although at home he is extremely adorable, unleashed on a walk he begins to live „his life”, showing as much fascinating as troublesome worship for running and space. He is absolutely gentle towards children, he has a similar attitude towards dogs. It is suitable for living only in a house with a (large) garden, but as a property defender it does not work. It requires long-term and thoroughly taught obedience. He is a strong, usually healthy dog that does not require special care. He is so handsome that leading him on the sidewalk we still meet with compliments. Attention of passers-by is especially drawn by the eyes of a quadruped, one of which can be blue. However, when planning to buy a puppy, do not be guided solely by appearance. One must first consider whether the character of the „strong dog” will suit us and whether we will provide him with adequate living conditions.

ENGLISH MASTIFF
This unique quadruped, when standing on its hind legs, is two meters high. When you accidentally run into us when playing tag, it will be approximately the strength of two Rottweilers, three German Shepherds or, if you prefer: about one hundred and twenty miniature Spitz dogs. The height (80 cm) weight (80 kg or higher) and the strength resulting from these parameters make the mastiff one of the largest and strongest dog giants. Although in ancient times he successfully fought warriors and even bears, a modern mastiff should not be feared by anyone who has no bad intentions towards his family and property. This giant is characterized by a nice superficiality and good attitude towards people and dogs. However, it must be laid out very carefully. It requires persistence and patience, because mastiff, despite high intelligence, learns quite slowly. He should live in a house with a garden and have free access to the owners. It must not be locked in a playpen for a long time. It is rather unsuitable for a block of flats, and if you shouldn’t definitely go up the stairs. This is a very beautiful dog with an interesting psyche. However, even when enjoying good health, it is very expensive to maintain.
