Old English Sheepdog Bobtail

  • Woolen, twisted robe. If we have a show bobtail, we should not cut the hair, because its regrowth lasts about a year.

How to cultivate the dog’s coat Care treatments should start with combing the animal with a metal brush and comb (rare and dense). We can use a special powder to facilitate combing. Particular attention is paid to the hair in the groin, thighs, stomach, under the ears and on the chin. We put the dog in a bathtub filled with warm water and a degreasing shampoo. This allows you to soak very thick coat and reach the cosmetics to the skin. After a few minutes, we release the water and rinse the remains of shampoo.

We dry the pet, apply antistatic liquid and dry it again, combing the coat with a thick metal brush. We cut the hair between the pads and around the feet, trim the damaged hair tips, hair under the ears (around the auricle) and around the anus, as well as remove individual hair in the corners of the eyes. Finally, shorten the claws. Such treatment is enough for 6-7 weeks. A well-greased coat does not require frequent combing. And how to cultivate the bouvier des flandres dog’s coat? Kerry Blue Terrier

  • Soft, twisted coat, with a predominance of silk hair, a small amount of undercoat. We start the care by combing the coat, mainly on the elbows, the inside of the limbs and the chin.

We can use a special powder that will make our work easier. We put the dog in a bathtub filled with warm water and a degreasing shampoo. Hair wetting helps to remove impurities. We use the regenerating shampoo for the proper bath, then apply the balm and rinse the pet. We apply a moisturizing conditioner on the hair on the limbs and on the ends of the chin hair. Thoroughly dry the dog with a dryer, modeling the hair with a metal brush (we try to straighten it). With a clipper, we cut the hair on the throat, thighs and around the anus. With scissors, cut the hair on the torso and neck so that the fur under the belly forms a diagonal line (the shorter one is for weakness, the longer one for the elbows). Then we clip the ears and head with a clipper, giving it a long, narrow shape. The chin must be so formed that the cheeks are poorly marked.

Shorten the hair on the limbs with scissors, giving them the shape of columns. We trim the fur between the pads and around the feet. Finally, we pluck the hair from the inside of the turbinate and cut the claws. If we do not prepare the dog for the exhibition, we can apply a conditioner on the limbs to prevent fur tingling. The procedure carried out in this way is enough for eight weeks. We nurture in the same way, among others: black terriers, soft coated wheaten terriers and hybrids with similar coat.
